We had the opportunity to venture over to the west coast of Florida for a really great evening. There's a lot of really cool wedding and party venues that are nestled on the beachside. One really unique venue literally located on the waterway overlooking the beautiful Tampa Bay area is the Rusty Pelican. Just 10 minutes from downtown Tampa, the Rusty Pelican features numerous party rooms for any occasion no matter tthe size or type of party. From sweet 16s to weddings and birthdays to corporate events, they have a room for anything. As you pull up to the building they have parking available as well as valet parking up front. You can pull right up and walk to the main entrance while the valet takes care of your car. As you enter the main doors you'll be greeted by several fireplaces and a rustic and cozy log cabin style lobby area. Restrooms are located here right at the front. With party rooms located on either side of the building.
For those having their ceremony and reception in one place, they have several options available. There's a gazebo located outdoors overlooking the gorgeous waterway. Chairs can be setup by the facility for your guests and there's a walk way right out to the ceremony. You can also choose to have it indoors in one of their rooms which are spacious and modern. They can setup your walk way and arch however you would like.
They have smaller rooms available for guest sizes of 25-60 people perfect for small intimate weddings or events and they have a large ballroom available for 125+ guests as well. You can talk with the staff on your layout and room size preference. Catering and room setup is all in-house. Meals are all prepared and served at the Rusty Pelican so you don't have to hire a separate caterer. They also have in-house planners and room staff to help coordinate your event. The bar and bartender are also setup in the room for your convenience.
Rusty Pelican has dance floors available and food can be served as plated or buffet style depending on your preference. They also have several different snacks and appetizers available too. Plus Rusty Pelican has a full size bar and restaurant out in the main room for guests to enjoy.
Some side notes for the facility that are good to know. The airport is right down the street from the Rusty Pelican as well as lots of hotels, so your guests flying into town have lots of options. There's ramps and easy access doors for your vendors to bring equipment in and out of the building. The view of the water is excellent and your photographer will have lots of shots to choose from. The only thing that you'll want to keep in mind is the main doors are a bit of a walk for older guests or senior citizens and there's no covering until you get to the main doors.
