For this edition of the blog we would like to revisit a venue we have spent many years performing at and already wrote about it about a decade ago but it's become a popular place to have weddings and you'll definitely want to look into it. As one of the few rustic outdoor farm wedding venues in the area, Southern Palm Bed & Breakfast boasts a little piece of paradise, "out in the woods," so to speak. It's a large property with a beautiful field and lots of trees with plenty of rooms for the bride & groom and/or bridal party to stay. Located 15 minutes west of I-95 and the turnpike in the Loxahatchee, Royal Palm Beach, Wellington area, it's right off the main road. The best part about the location is, its very close to stores and the city so you'll feel as if you're in the middle of nowhere but with the convenience of being within miles of places.
As you first drive in you'll be greeted by a long driveway that shows you how large the property is. There's ample parking everywhere so that usually is never an issue. To the north side of Southern Palm is a large field with large trees where many of the ceremonies take place. It's the perfect setting for pictures and a peaceful area to be married. Plus they have a car & golf cart on hand to drive the couple to and from the field. You can also choose to have your ceremony over by the rustic window frame that overlooks the pond. They have beautiful options available so feel free to take a tour and see what works best.
Following your ceremony you can have your cocktail hour and even your pre-ceremony meet-up at the new pavilion. There's pavers throughout the facility and the pavilion is completely covered incase of any rain issues. They can setup your gift table, the bar area, tables and chairs and it's right by the restrooms. Guests can kick back and relax with snacks and drinks. They can either be provided by your caterer or Southern Palm can fill you in on what they have available for food choices.
Following cocktail hour they have a wonderful outdoor reception area with rope lights and plenty of space for a dance area, tables and chairs plus a cake table & a sweetheart table. The musician or DJ can setup on their deck / porch area overlooking the reception. There's stairs on booth sides of the deck and it's easy access for setting up equipment. They can also setup your buffet and have a separate road that goes around to bring in the food.
Some other great things and side notes are the awesome island in the middle of the pond with a bridge that takes you across. It's a cool place to have a bridal party lounge area of your
photo booth. There's also an area to the side of the stage you can setup a photo booth too. Photographers will enjoy the great picture ops available and it's easy to navigate the property. You can comfortably fit about 100 guests at this venue and keep in mind there's a noise ordinance at 10pm nightly. It's very convenient being able to have your wedding and have a room for the evening there. Also make sure to have a backup rain plan too. The staff is accommodating and friendly and it's a unique place. If you're looking for a rustic style outdoor wedding venue this is the one.
